Who we are

This website is run by Airrion, a student initiative of the University of Patras that designs and builds a wind turbine. The Airrion team is the controller of the personal data described below. For anything related to your personal data you can contact us at airrionupatras@gmail.com.

What data we process and why

  • Contact form: the name, email, subject and text of the message you send us. We use them only to reply to you and to organise the cooperation or participation you ask for. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering requests that you submit (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, if you ask for cooperation, taking steps at your request (point (b)).
  • Team member details: the name, photo, role, school and, where available, the LinkedIn profile link of team members are published on the Team page with the members' own consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Any member can ask at any time for their details to be corrected or removed.
  • Technical operating data: the hosting provider of the website may log technical details of requests (for example IP address, time, page) for security and smooth operation. We use them only for this purpose and not to identify you.
  • Visitor statistics: we use the GoatCounter service to count how many people visit the website and which pages they read. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address and does not track you across other websites. Only aggregated data is recorded, such as the page, country, device and browser type, and the website you came from. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to this processing by writing to airrionupatras@gmail.com.

What we do not do

  • We do not use tracking cookies or advertising tools. The statistics we keep do not contain details that identify you.
  • We do not sell or trade personal data.
  • We do not make automated decisions or build profiles.

If any of this changes, we will update this policy before the change.

Who we share data with

We use service providers that process data on our behalf:
- Hosting provider (Render): hosts the website and the database where messages are stored.
- Email delivery provider (Resend): used so that your message reaches the team's email. The provider may be located outside the European Economic Area. Where required, the transfer takes place with the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
- Statistics provider (GoatCounter): receives the aggregated visitor statistics described above.

We do not share your data with anyone else unless required by law or by a competent authority.

How long we keep it

  • Contact form messages are kept as long as needed to reply and to complete the cooperation or participation requested, and are deleted within 12 months at the latest, unless the communication continues.
  • Team member details stay on the website while the member takes part in the team or until they ask for removal.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, and the right to withdraw your consent where processing is based on it. To exercise them, email airrionupatras@gmail.com; we will reply within one month at the latest.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.

Security

The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and access to the administration area is protected by a password. We limit access to the data to the team members who need it. No security measure is absolute.

Minors

The website is not aimed at children. If you are under 15, please do not send us personal details without the consent of your parent or guardian.
